Gosainkunda lake is one of the holy lake located in Langtang region that offers panoramic sceneries of mountain ranges and the sight of an endangered inhabitant of the area. Langtang Gosainkunda lake trek is a perfect amalgamation of the culture along with nature. It is a good alternative for those trekkers who are interested in trekking but have less number of days to spare for their holiday. Gosainkunda Lake lies in the north of Kathmandu in the Langtang region that comes under the preservation of the Langtang National Park.
The Gosainkunda lake itself is considered as one of the holy lakes as per the Hindu mythology. Every year thousands of pilgrims from all over Nepal as well as India come to the region to make the offerings to the holy lake as a part of their religious beliefs. On the occasion of Janai Purnima which generally lies in the month of August as per the Georgian calendar, a special festival is held in the Gosainkunda Lake every year. It is also an important site where Shamanism is still practiced.
The trek offers an opportunity to witness the large numbers of flora and Fauna as well as provide you ample of time to admire the picturesque landscape. If you are lucky enough, you might even get an insight or even encounter some of the wildlife species such as Himalayan Thar, Musk deer, Snow Leopard, red panda etc. which the National Park serves as a natural habitat too. Besides the Flora and Fauna, you can also learn more about the people living in the area. The people such as Tamangs and Sherpas are the major inhabitant of the area. With an interaction, you will get a chance to learn more about their lifestyle, their culture as well as their traditions which is still continuing since many generations.

Our airport representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu upon your arrival. He/she will escort you to the respective hotel in a private vehicle comfortably. Your prior trip meeting will be scheduled on the very day at the hotel before dinner. However, our airport representative will give you a brief idea about the second day’s schedule on your way to the hotel. During the meeting, we will introduce you to your leader/guide. Please do not hesitate to ask questions about your trek or anything that is related to your trip. To make you feel comfortable, we schedule a welcome dinner for you in a popular restaurant in the city where you can enjoy authentic Nepali meal along with cultural programs including ethnic dance and songs. After having an early morning breakfast at your hotel in Kathmandu, our guide will be there to escort you to the bus stop to catch a bus to Dhunche. It might take around 7- 8 hours by bus to Dhunche under normal road condition. Dhunche is one of the main entry points to the Langtang National Park. During the bus ride, you will pass through many small villages alongside Trisuli River. After reaching the Dhunche, take a lunch then we will start trek to Deurali. Crossing a suspension bridge over the ghatte Khola passing the rhododendron and bamboo forest will lead you towards Deurali.

After an early breakfast at the mountain lodge, you will be trekking towards Laurebina. On the way, you will be passing through the rhododendron and pine forests. You can see many small lodges offering their hospitality along the way. You might even see the local people grazing their horses and doing their normal everyday chores. You will be passing through the cheese factory and generally be taking an ascent towards Laurebina which is your destination for the day. Despite the steep and strenuous climb, you will get to view the mesmerizing views of the Manaslu and Ganesh Himal range which will compensate the tiredness. Overnight at hotel in Laurebina.
After an early breakfast, you will be trekking pass the small ridge from where you will get a first glimpse of the Gosainkunda Lake. Further continuing the trek you will reach Gosainkunda. It is a worthwhile experience as not only you will get to see Gosainkunda you will also get to see various small kundas that lie few meters apart. Amongst the many Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda and Gosaikunda are main three kunda here. You can spend the rest of the day exploring the area. Overnight at the Mountain Lodge in Gosainkunda
Today you will retrace the trail and descend to the Chandanbari. The trail passes through the dense forest of pine, silver oak and rhododendrons with marijuana plants reaching to the tiny village of Chandanbarii. Then begin the steep down trail from the ridge crossing the sing Gompa Stream. Crossing the bridge and some human settlements reach Dhunche, the headquarters of Rasuwa district. Today early in the morning, drive back to Kathmandu by private car which is about 7-8 hours journey with a pleasant drive. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu
This is the last day of your trip with us. You can extend your trip for one or two days to visit other interesting places in and out of Kathmandu which is completely optional. If not then one of our staff will escort you to the airport as per your scheduled departure. You can roam around the city and buy souvenirs’ and do shopping to take along with you if your flight is scheduled during late hours.
