Nar Phu valley trek is a unique package that combines the cultural as well as the adventurous aspects of the country. Nar Phu Valley trekking is comparatively a new destination for the travelers as the area has been opened for the visitors only since 2003 and is considered as the restricted area by Government of Nepal. It is an exceptional journey to the remote parts of the Manang district. The trail passes through the small traditional villages, narrow canyons, forests, and cross over the high passes such as Kangla Pass and Thorung La pass. You will also encounter with some monasteries, and local Tibetan culture that has been prevailing through the centuries in its purest form as the area is still intact from the growing modernization. The trek gives you an ample of opportunity to enjoy the mesmerizing Himalayan views such as Mt.Manaslu 8163m, Mt.Dhaulagiri 8167m, Mt. Annapurna I 8091m, and other snowcapped mountains. This trek also gives fantastic views of the Annapurna massif, Lamjung Himal, Machhapuchhre Himal, Manaslu Himal, Dhaulagiri range and Tilicho peak. Snow leopards and blue sheep are often seen in the areas. The Nar Phu valley trek is an exotic package prepared for the one who enjoys nature and adventure.

Our airport representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu upon your arrival. He/she will escort you to the respective hotel in a private vehicle comfortably. Your prior trip meeting will be scheduled on the very day at the hotel before dinner. However, our airport representative will give you a brief idea about the second day’s schedule on your way to the hotel. During the meeting, we will introduce you to your leader/guide. Please do not hesitate to ask questions about your trek or anything that is related to your trip. To make you feel comfortable, we schedule a welcome dinner for you in a popular restaurant in the city where you can enjoy authentic Nepali meal along with cultural programs including ethnic dance and songs. After the breakfast, you will be visiting the different places in Kathmandu. There are many historic and cultural places that are of great significance in Kathmandu. You will get to see the major attractions of the city along with our professional guide and a private vehicle. The following are the major places that you will visit: You will be visiting Patan Durbar Square, which has been listed in the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site.You can enjoy the age-old cultural heritage of the city. Boudhanath and Swayambhunath a sacred pilgrimage of the Buddhist and Pashupatinath, a very famous Hindu temple are the attraction of today’s sightseeing program. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
After an early breakfast, the trip begins as you head off to Besisahar by a local bus. Our guide will accompany you throughout the trip. As soon as you reach Besisahar which is the capital of Lamjung District in Gandaki Zone in Nepal. The driving distance would be approximately 6 hours under normal road condition. You will be further transferred to Koto taking a local private jeep which will take approximately 5 hours’ drive under normal road condition. From Koto great views of Mt, Manaslu and Annapurna II can be seen. We further continue trekking towards Koto a beautiful village and your destination of the day. Overnight at a lodge in Koto.
Today, after the early breakfast we shall move towards Dharmasala from Koto we enter the restricted area of Narphu valley. Following the Nar Khola, the trail further leads to an adventurous journey towards the rocky trail and a long walk to Meta. The trail passes through the check post, beautiful forest, wide waterfall, and a pilgrimage site ‘Dharmasala’.Overnight at a lodge in Meta.
Today Trek to Phu village with pack Lunch and It is 7/8 long walk via desert area and a typical local village of Chyako and Kyang village. The trails lead to an uphill trek towards the valley of Phu village following the Phu Khola and on the way seeing some mountains of Annapurna ranges. Overnight at a lodge in Phu Village.
Today is a full rest day for acclimatization. You can explore Phu village and Tashi Gompa. After breakfast we will walk into the Phu village explore of culture story of Dalai Lama, local people spending with the yak, sheep wool, chat, pound mustard seed and Tibetan village of photographers is the light of spectacular. Upon interest and if time permits you can also visit Himlung Base Camp which will take around 5 hours approximately. Overnight at a lodge in Phu Village.
Today, we will be retracing the trail back to Chyako village and further trek to Naar Village crossing the Mahendra Pul. On the way, you might get a glimpse of the local culture of the valley as you might witness the “mani” walls before the second entrance gate of the Naar Valley. Today is the rest day for exploration at Naar Village. You can get ample of opportunity to explore the village. You can normally get to experience the local Manang culture. There are many chortens and Monastery in the area displaying the local art and architecture. Overnight at a lodge in Naar.
Today we have a long day trekking. After having an early morning breakfast, we head towards the base camp of Kangla Pass. You will be further crossing Kangla Pass and trek towards Ngawal Village. From Kangla pass you will get a chance to see the mesmerizing views of the great Annapurna massif, the total trekking hours will be 8/9 hours approximately. Overnight at lodge in Ngawal.
Today is a short walk to Manang Village which will take around 3 hours of trek. There are many gompas and monasteries in Manang which you might explore during your visit. On the way from Ngawal to Manang, you can also visit Braga Gompa which is one of the oldest Gompa’s believed to be constructed about 200 years ago. You will have a great time exploring the various cultural aspect of the place. Overnight at lodge in Manang.
Today, you will be trekking to the higher altitude. Walking at a slow pace would be helpful to adjust to the change in altitude. As the trek begins, you will cross a stream, climbs to a village of Tenki and continue to ascend the Marsyangdi Valley, turning northwest up the valley of Jarsang Khola. You will further pass the small village of Ghunsa and following the trail through the meadows. Here, you can see the horses and yaks grazing. Crossing a wooden suspension bridge, you will encounter series of mani wall, eventually, you reach Yak Kharka at 4,000m. Yak Kharka is the yak grazed land and hence signs of yak herders and thin vegetation can be seen there. After crossing the beautiful village of Yakkharka, you will be further trekking uphill for about an hour and a half and finally reach Ledar, the destination of the day. It will take around 6-7 trekking hours approximately. Overnight at a lodge in Ledar.
Today, you will walk uphill to the Thorang Phedi and towards the high camp. Walking for a while in an easy trail, you will cross a suspension bridge leading you towards Ledar village. Then, slightly ascend and passing through towering cliffs, you will reach Thorang Phedi. It is the last village before Thorang-la Pass. During the trail, you can click the views of Mt. Gundang, Thorang Peak, Mt. Syangang and Mt. Khatungkan. You will further be trekking towards the High camp where you will be staying for the overnight accommodation. The trek will be around 5-6 hours.Overnight at High camp.
Today after an early breakfast you will be trekking towards Muktinath crossing world’s largest pass- The Thorong-La pass. It is the most exciting and adventurous part of the whole trek. 3-4 hours of the steep strenuous trek from the high camp brings you to the top of Thorung La Pass 5416m. The regular course to Thorung La Pass seems easy. However, a number of difficulties might encounter due to the elevation and snow. Getting up to the pass may be tough but the acme of the pass marked by revered chortens and colorful prayer flags will reward you with the most eye-catching views of the Himalayas that include Annapurna at its best. The total trekking hours will be around 7-8 hours. Overnight at a lodge in Muktinath.
Today you will descend down the dramatic Kali Gandaki valley, initially through arid country in the same geographical and climatic zone as Tibet. After passing through Jharkot and Khingar, villages with typical Tibetan architecture, we follow the valley floor most of the way to Jomsom. En-route, you get the opportunity to view the tremendous views of both Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri. Jomsom is a large town sprawled along both banks of the Kali Gandaki River, and it is here we will spend the final night of our trek. The trekking will take around 6-7 hours approximately. We take an early morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. It is a spectacular flight along the Kali Gandaki Gorge and provides wonderful views of both the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. Rest of the day at leisure in Pokhara. Overnight at a hotel in Pokhara
We will return to Kathmandu from Pokhara on a tourist coach. After 7-8 hours of a drive, we will finally reach Kathmandu from where our journey began. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be escorted to the hotel. You can freshen up and go shopping in the evening at Thamel which is famous for useful tourist’s products. Since today is your last day in Kathmandu, we host a farewell dinner where you can give your feedback regarding the services that we provided regarding the entire trip. We will stay overnight at the hotel.
This is the last day of your trip with us. You can extend your trip for one or two days to visit other interesting places in and out of Kathmandu which is completely optional. If not then one of our staff will escort you to the airport as per your scheduled departure. You can roam around the city and buy souvenirs’ and do shopping to take along with you if your flight is scheduled during late hours.
