Exploring Langtang Region is not only about the beautiful vista of the Himalayas. This region also offers an opportunity to know and witness the age-old culture of the people living in this region. The people living in this region are Tibetans who came to Nepal from Kerung Border and settled here changing their ethnicity to Tamangs. This trek provides an opportunity to experience their rituals, culture, and tradition and know about their festivals. Local Syaphru Dance is the major attraction of this trip. You will observe Syaphru, Mane and other local dances at Goljung and Gatling VDCs. You can also buy some exclusive handicraft items like traditional caps, mufflers, and other items. This trek offers you a peek into everyday lives of the Tamangs. At Tatopani (hot spring), you can dip in the healing hot-water before reaching Nagthali, where the stay is a unique experience. The ancient monasteries and houses adorned with rich wood engravings at Thuman are some unforgettable memories to cherish. Besides, this could be an opportunity to experience the Tamang hospitality as they have the facility of homestay in almost 24 households. Our airport representative will be there to welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu upon your arrival. He/she will escort you to the respective hotel in a private vehicle comfortably. Your prior trip meeting will be scheduled on the very day at the hotel before dinner. However, our airport representative will give you a brief idea about the second day’s schedule on your way to the hotel. During the meeting, we will introduce you to your leader/guide. Please do not hesitate to ask questions about your trek or anything that is related to your trip. To make you feel comfortable, we schedule a welcome dinner for you in a popular restaurant in the city where you can enjoy authentic Nepali meal along with cultural programs including ethnic dance and songs. Tonight, you will spend your night at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Today we will be traveling towards Syabrubesi via a local bus. Our guide will pick you up from the hotel and will escort you to the bus stop to catch the early morning bus to Syabrubesi. Your journey is going to be a very pleasant as the mountain road takes you through the beautiful forested areas, and local settlements. The roads are bumpy in many places, yet the drive is going to be very exciting. After almost 8 hours of a scenic drive, we will reach Syabrubesi and stay overnight at a lodge there.
Our destination for today is set for Gatlang. We will start to walk uphill across the Goljung. This place offers a mesmerizing view of Ganesh Himal, Sishapangma, Langtang Lirung and many others. After few hours of walk, we will reach Gatling which is a small village with few stone houses. We will stay overnight at Gatlang.
Today we will walk towards Tatopani. We will begin to descend towards Thangbuche. This place offers a mesmerizing view of Ganesh Himal and Langtang range. We will ascend pass Chilimey Hydropower Dam until we reach Tatopani. Earlier, this used to be the spot where one could dip to take bath in hot spring but after the massive earthquake in 2015, the hot springs have disappeared. Today we will stay overnight at Tatopani.
Today is the third day of this trekking. We will be walking towards Thuman. After walking through the dense alpine forest for few hours we will reach a beautiful Tamang settlement named Brimdang with few houses. From here we will trace our trails that lead us to another beautiful place called Nagthali Hill. This point offers an amazing closer view of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Sajen Kerung etc. After spending some time here we will descend down the hill until we reach Thuman, a beautiful Tamang village where we will be staying overnight.
Our destination for today is set for Briddim. We will walk downhill in the forested trail to reach Briddim passing through many beautiful areas. After few hours of walk, we will reach Briddim, a beautiful Buddhist Village. This village is inhabited by the people of Tibetan origin living in peculiar stone houses that are arranged neatly. We can explore the Dukchu Gompa and the peripheral areas in the evening. We will be staying at one of the houses in this village living with them, eating the scrumptious food and sleeping in their clean bed. We will stay overnight at Briddim.
Today we will be descending to Syabrubesi from Briddim. It will take almost 3 hours to reach Syabrubesi walking on the trail that passes through the forest and settlements. We will stay overnight at Syabrubesi.
We will return to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi on a public vehicle. After 6-7 hours of the drive, we will finally reach Kathmandu from where our journey began. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be escorted to the hotel. You can freshen up and go shopping in the evening at Thamel which is famous for useful tourist’s products. Since today is your last day in Kathmandu, we host a farewell dinner where you can give your feedback regarding the services that we provided during the entire trip. We will stay overnight at the hotel.
This is the last day of your trip with us. You can extend your trip for one or two days to visit other interesting places in and out of Kathmandu which is completely optional. If not then one of our staff will escort you to the airport as per your scheduled departure. You can roam around the city and buy souvenirs’ and do shopping to take along with you if your flight is scheduled during late hours.
