Everest Base Camp trails run through the Khumbu region where you can experience an ultimate trekking adventure of the Himalayas. Everest Base Camp Long Trek is best for beginner hikers which is going to be a slow and steady walk up to the base camp savoring wonderful Sherpa culture, enjoying the scenery, wildlife and visiting a number of monasteries. This is one of the most challenging yet very rewarding trekking that one could ever get to experience. The thrill begins from day one when you board your flight to Lukla airport- A gateway to Everest.
Everest Base Camp 19 Days is specially designed to view the beauty of Mt. Everest and other peaks and it also incorporates the places of historic importance that are very rich in cultural aspects. Spring Season (March to May) and autumn season (October to December) are considered to be the best season for Everest Base Camp Trek. Two days have been separated for the purpose of acclimatization which will be enough for your body and mind to get acquainted with the environment of the Everest region. We ensure you a guaranteed departure on your chosen date. However, at times due to adverse weather conditions, the flight might be delayed or canceled for a day affecting the schedule. We always recommend you to add one night (three nights to the most) in Kathmandu after your trek if possible. We can arrange helicopters as per needed in case of flight cancellation as per your need and request.

Our airport representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu upon your arrival. He/she will escort you to the respective hotel in a private vehicle. Your prior trip meeting will be scheduled on the very day at the hotel before dinner. However, our airport representative will give you a brief idea about the second day’s schedule on your way to the hotel. During this meeting, we will introduce you to your leader/guide. Please do not hesitate to ask questions about your trek or anything that is related to your trip. To make you feel comfortable, we host a welcome dinner for you in a popular restaurant in the city where you can enjoy authentic Nepali meal along with cultural programs including ethnic dance and songs. Tonight will be spent at a hotel in Kathmandu.
After the breakfast, you will be visiting the different places in Kathmandu. There are many historic and cultural places that are of great significance in Kathmandu. You will get to see the major attractions of the city along with our professional guide and a private vehicle. The following are the major places that you will visit:
You will be visiting either Kathmandu Durbar Square or Patan Durbar Square, which has been listed in the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. You can enjoy the age-old cultural heritage of the city. Boudhanath and Swayambhunath a sacred pilgrimage of the Buddhist and Pashupatinath the very famous Hindu temple are the attraction of today’s sightseeing program. After sightseeing, you will be meeting us at our office for a prior trek meeting. You can go shopping in the evening at Thamel which is famous for useful tourist’s products. We will stay overnight at the hotel.
We will drive you to the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan Airport in the morning to board the flight to Lukla. After 30-35 minutes of flight, you will land to Tenzing- Hillary Airport, Lukla from where your destination begins. In a clear weather condition, you can enjoy the majestic panorama of different mountains on your way to Lukla from Kathmandu. You will be briefed by our guide regarding the trekking to Phakding. You will have your breakfast here along with other trekkers and will get some extra time to drool around the village and get acclimatize while the porters sort out and load the trekking equipment. A walk of four hours will help you reach Phakding. On your way, you will see the herd of yaks, Black Mani walls engraved with prayers in white, beautiful monasteries breathe taking views of Lukla village, there are many resting places and tea houses in Phakding and you will be staying in one of these lodges tonight.
Today, our trek continues along the trail of Dudhkoshi River after breakfast in Phakding. We begin with an uphill walk crossing the suspension bridge with prayer flags that lead to Monju, the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. There are many teahouses, and shops on the way to Monju from Phakding for light refreshment. After clearing the entrance formalities to enter the National Park, we will walk down the steeped trail to Dudhkoshi River. After crossing another interesting suspension bridge, the uphill trail will lead you to Namche Bazaar-Gateway to Mt. Everest. We can find many good restaurants, hotels, lodges shops, money exchange, bakeries and teahouses as Namche is the biggest village along the whole Everest trail. Major attractions of this day are an amazing view of Mt. Kusum, Lhotse, Nuptse and the first Glimpse of Mt. Everest. We will stay in a guesthouse tonight.
The trek for today will start shortly after the breakfast. Today we will follow the trails along the glacial water of Dudhkoshi up till the altitude of 3867m. On our way, we can enjoy the phenomenal view of the Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Enthralling Thamserku exists in the close vicinity of the trail along with the lush of the temperate vegetation including Rhododendron, Oak, Juniper etc. We might also get a glance of wild fauna like Himalayan Thar, Musk deer, Snow Leopard and different varieties of birds prevailing in that region. Upon reaching Tengboche; we can visit the famous Tengboche Monastery decorated with beautiful Sherpa art and beautiful wall hangings. We will stay overnight at a lodge/teahouse in Tengboche.

You will be accompanied by a prepossessing view of the green vegetation. On our way, we will witness small villages and chortens. Majestic view Mt. Ama Dablam and other peaks like Island Peak and Lhotse awaits you here. After a few hours of uphill walk, we will finally reach Dingboche (4,358m/14,295ft). We will stay overnight at Dingboche.
Your journey for today begins after breakfast at Tengboche. It is a short hike downhill followed by an uphill climb to Pangboche (3,860m/12,664ft) crossing the suspension bridge. You will be accompanied by a prepossessing view of the green vegetation. On our way, we will witness small villages and chortens. Majestic view Mt. Ama Dablam and other peaks like Island Peak and Lhotse awaits you here. After a few hours of uphill walk, we will finally reach Dingboche (4,358m/14,295ft). We will stay overnight at Dingboche.
Our trek for today will start at Dingboche towards Chukung. It is going to be an ascend through the undulated trails. On the way, we will see small huts for keeping the livestock, beautiful view of mountains, vegetation, and fauna of the region. After almost four hours of walk, we will reach Chukung where we will have our dinner and stay overnight.
Today, shortly after breakfast at Chukung we will begin our trek. It takes almost 6 hours to reach Lobuche. We will first hike to Chhukung Ri (5550m /18208 ft). The amazing vista of Nuptse, Lhotse, Baruntse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Konde, Tawoche, Cholost and many more awaits us here. This is a lifetime experience to have seen so many beautiful peaks from a single point. From here we will walk towards Lobuche through Duglha where we will see beautiful pasture land, porters, and the herd of yaks carrying stuff. A short ascend along the glacier will take us to Lobuche. There are beautifully clustered small houses and resting places. We will have our dinner here and stay overnight.
Today's walk is going to be a bit difficult as we will be walking along the Khumbu Glacier to reach the Everest Base Camp. We will first trek to Gorak Shep and after having lunch there the uphill climb for Everest base camp begins. From this point, we will see the Everest in close proximity without any mountaineering equipment. After walking through the rocky trail we will reach the Base Camp (5,357m/17,575ft).You can see the splendid view of Khumbu valley from this point. We will return to Gorak Shep for dinner and overnight stay.
We will have to start our trek early today because this is the most tedious day of the entire trip. We will begin our journey by climbing up to reach Kala Patthar (Black Rock at 5,545m/18,192ft.), that offers the best views of Mt. Everest. This is a very challenging ascent yet a very rewarding one as it offers an enthralling view of the Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori and Ama Dablam. We can spend some time here taking photographs before descending down to Gorak Shep and then trek down to Periche. We will stay at Pheriche tonight.
We will begin to descend from today. Right after the breakfast, we will start our hike down to Pangboche. from Pangboche the trails get steeper. We will first take the trails on the right and then ascend to reach Phortse (where the trail split for Namche and Gokyo valley). This is a beautiful hamlet famous for gallant Sherpas who are popular for mountaineering. This place is also known for potato and buckwheat and the livelihood of the people depends on farming. We will stay at Phortse tonight.
Today after breakfast, we will walk descend along the riverside towards Phortse Thanga. After crossing the river there we will follow the gradual uphill trails to reach Kyangjuma through Tashinga Village. From here it is about 40 to 50 minutes of walk to reach Khumjung. This village has got typical type of trails through the houses. Beautiful chortens, Mane, prayer flags are seen here. Also, there is a Sherpa School for secondary education (Only one of Khumbu), and we can also visit Khumbu Hospital in Kunde where western Doctors are available (With collaboration with Himalayan Rescue Association) for basic treatment of AMS. This night will be spent at Khumjung.
Our trek for today will begin from Khumjung towards Thame. Right after the breakfast, we will begin the hike towards Thame. Thame is one of the oldest settlements of this region. It is known for the old salt trade route to Tibet. But this route is not in use by Nepali people however the Tibetan uses this route to sell their product like handicraft and clothes. Thame is also known for age-old monasteries and avid Sherpa culture and beautiful panorama mountains. We will be staying overnight at Thame.
Today our trek will begin shortly after the breakfast. Though a longer one but today’s trek is comparatively easier than the other days. We will come across few Sherpa settlement during the walk. Almost 6 hours of walk will take us to Monjo, a beautiful Sherpa village. People of this village depend on agriculture for their livelihood. These people are warm and amicable. We will stay overnight at Monjo.
Day 17: Trek from Monjo (2835m/9302 ft) to Lukla (2840m/9317 ft)

We will have to ascend as well as descend today. We will cross the suspension bridge over the Dudhkoshi River and descend for a while followed by a long ascend to reach Lukla from where our trek began. This evening can be spent with the team members roaming around market or can have some quality time with ourselves enjoying achievement that we made during past few days. We will spend this night at Lukla.
Flight to and from Lukla are normally scheduled during the early hours as the weather might go unpredictably adverse during the later hours. After breakfast, you will be taken to the airport by our guide and you luggage will be taken care of by the porters and local Sherpas. You will reach to Kathmandu after a 30 min of flying. You will be escorted to the respective hotel by our staff from the airport.
Since today is your last day in Kathmandu, we host a farewell dinner where you can give your feedback regarding the services that we provided during the entire trip. We will stay overnight at the hotel.
This is the last day of your trip with us. You can extend your trip for one or two days to visit other interesting places in and out of Kathmandu which is completely optional. If not then one of our staff will escort you to the airport as per your scheduled departure. You can roam around the city and buy souvenirs and do shopping to take along with you if your flight is scheduled during late hours.
