All visitors other than Indian nationals are required to obtain a visa for entry into Nepal. There is a provision of an on-arrival tourist visa at Tribhuwan International Airport or at the immigration office of any entry/exit point. An on-arrival tourist visa is a multiple-entry visa and is available for 15, 30 and 90 days. While applying for the visa, a passport must be valid for at least six months and two passport-sized photos would be required. Visa may also be acquired from the Nepalese Embassy, Consulate or other diplomatic missions abroad before arrival, especially during peak seasons (October-November and April-May) to avoid long queues at the airport immigration.
Although Indian Nationals do not require a visa to enter Nepal, they are required to hold a passport or Voter’s card issued by the Election Commission of India with the photograph issued by Central or State government of India on arrival at any of the entry points.
