Trekking in the Langtang region is considered as the third most popular trekking region in Nepal. Langtang region lies in the northern side of the Kathmandu. Every year numerous number of people visit to the area for the purpose of trekking or the pilgrimage tours. The trail that trekkers follow in this region is mostly lies within the territory of Langtang National Park. The park hosts a variety of natural splendors, from lush valleys to the varied mountain ranges. During the spring season the trail is brightened by the rhododendrons forests. The national park also has the wide bio diversity as it hosts a number of rare species of flora and fauna. The rare flowers such as larch, gentians, primroses, epiphytic orchids, etc are abundantly found in the area. Langtang region is the habitation for many wild animals such as Tigers, wild boar, red panda, pica, musk deer, Himalayan black bear, Himalayan thar (wild goat), rhesus monkey etc. if you are lucky enough you might be able to sight different species of birds which is one of the attraction for the Langtang Trekking region.

Langtang national park also covers the area consisting of the number of high peaks. The Langtang and Ganesh Himal mountain ranges including Langtang Lirung (7246m), Gang Chhenpo (6388m), Naya Kangri (5846m), Yala peak (5700m) and Dorji Lhakpa (6966m) are few peaks to mention. Langtang is one of the best trekking destinations for all those who enjoy natural landscape and distinct cultural practices along with bio diversity. The region is popular for its culture, religion and a splendid Himalaya range, beautiful waterfalls and green forests. The major inhabitants of the region are the Tamang’s one of the ethnic group of the country. Gosainkunda which is considered as the sacred site for both the Hindus and Buddhists also lies here. Every year hundreds of people visit the area in order to offer their homage to the god. We can also find number of monasteries which are sacred to the Buddhists. One can see the religious tolerance between the people having different religion yet have harmony and peace who are living in the area that has been passed on through the ancestors.
