Peak climbing in Nepal is a dream for many adventure lovers. Nepal is home to eight of the 14 highest mountains in the world including Mount Everest 8,848 m (29,029 ft). Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) was established in 1973 with an aim to provide safety to the climbers. NMA has listed the names of the peak that are open to the visitors for climbing and expeditions. NMA has further classified the peaks into different grades. Since the permits for climbing have been issued, many people from around the world have been attracted to try the challenging adventure and attain their dream.
There are many climbing peaks in Nepal amongst which island Peak, Mera Peak, Lobuche, Kyajo Ri, Nayakanga, Pisang Peak, Singuchuli Peak and Tharpu Chuli are the popular ones. There are some technicalities involved in climbing different peaks. One can choose the peak based on their level, knowledge, skills, and number of days that one is able to spare for the trip. One should be fit and have basic climbing skills to attempt climbing the peaks. Most of these climbing trips take you through wild and virgin alpine regions.
