Kathmandu valley is the place to sight for those people who are interested in exploring the glorious history and culture of the past through the means of great architecture, art, paintings, museums etc. There are various places that one can visit that explains the great history of the country. Out of the seven UNESCO World Heritage site’s, today’s sightseeing tour is scheduled to visit two of the famous sites namely Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square. Both the durbar squares are the examples of the countless amount of monuments and temples built by the respective kings of their time to mark their magnificent regime. Looking through the history, these temples are the result of the competition between the kings to prove themselves superior to each other. We shall first visit, Bhaktapur Durbar square along with the guide. Bhaktapur Durbar Square acts as an open museum that displays the exquisite art and architecture of the medieval period. The square comprises of various multi roofed temples also known as the Nepalese style of architecture and other stone temples. Later the cultural sightseeing tour will further lead us to Patan Durbar square where you will have plenty of time to explore the city.

BHAKTAPUR DURBAR SQUARE:
Bhaktapur is also known as Bhadgaon, meaning “the city of devotees”. It spreads over an area of 6.88 sq km, and is shaped like a conch shell. It lies 14 km/9 miles south-east of Kathmandu City and was founded in the 9th century. The square showcases the splendor of the Golden Age of Nepali art and architecture. In Bhaktapur, you will visit the DurbarSquaree with its array of temples overlooked by the Palace of 55 Windows built by King Bhupatindra Malla. Here you will also visit, Nyatapol- a fine example of multi roofed temple that exists in Nepal which stands on five terraces; on each of which stands a pair of figures, two strong men, two elephants, two lions, two griffins and two Goddesses. You will also visit other temples such as Bhairav temple, Dattatreya Temple, Golden Gate etc. The city was declared a UNEZCO World Heritage site 1979. It has remained a model for heritage conservation since then. Also located in the square is Bhaktapur Art Museum which houses stone images, paintings and other art objects of the past.
PATAN DURBAR SQUARE:
Patan Durbar Square a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is widely appreciated for its intricate artistic heritage. The city is an example of the religious tolerance between Hinduism and Buddhism featuring its age old temples. Patan Durbar Square and its surroundings is a good illustration of ancient Newari architecture. There are three main courtyards in the palace: MulChowk, Sundari Chowk and Keshav Narayan Chowk. Mul Chowk, being the oldest one. The Sundari Chowk holds in its center a masterpiece of stone architecture, the Royal bath called Tushahity. Other places to visit are: Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Maha Vihar), Patan Museum, Krishna Temple, Mahaboudha (Temple of Thousand Buddhas’) etc.
We have prepared the trip departure dates in small groups departure for group fun and enjoyment trekking.
